Two-time Ryder Cup winner Miguel Angel Jimenez harbours aspirations of captaining the European team in the foreseeable future.

Jimenez, who has featured prominently in three successful Ryder Cup campaigns (two of them as a player), was the vice-captain of the European team which staged a comeback of epic proportions at the Medinah Country Club in 2012. During that campaign he worked alongside compatriot Jose Maria Olazabal.
Jimenez, who has played in 15 Ryder Cup matches in the past, remains a strong candidate to make the cut ahead of this year's tournament, which will be held at Gleneagles. However, he is already looking beyond that.
"I think I can do it but I have to go step by step," Jimenez told Marca this week.
"I would like to be there. I am waiting for news and it would be great if I can."
Jimenez, who like Olazabal, started his career as a caddie, is as motivated as he has ever been to compete both as a tour professional and as a mentor.
"I feel fine. I have spent 25 years travelling the world and competing and if you aren't happy doing that then it would be impossible to be so. I am motivated," explained Jimenez.
In the past Olazabal has suggested that Jimenez would need to improve his English if he harboured any aspirations of becoming a Ryder Cup captain one day. However, it would appear Jimenez is undeterred by the apparent language barrier or the enormity of the task that lies ahead.
