There is no stopping the Rory McIlroy juggernaut this year as the Ulsterman has been voted PGA Tour Player of the Year for 2012.
McIlroy, who will receive the Jack Nicklaus Award after winning the votes of his fellow Tour members, will become the youngest pro to collect the trophy since Tiger Woods in 1998.
Jason Dufner, Brandt Snedeker, Bubba Watson and Tiger Woods were the other nominees, but the Tour does not reveal how its members voted.
PGA Tour commissioner Tim Finchem said in a statement: "These awards are significant to these players as they are bestowed upon them by their peers, one of the highest compliments a player can receive."
The highlight of McIlroy's will no doubt be his US PGA Championship victory by eight shots, but he also won the Honda Classic and two FedEx Cup play-off events.
Other awards this year included the PGA Tour money title as well as the Vardon Trophy for the lowest scoring average.
The 22-year-old John Huh, who won the Mayakoba Golf Classic in Mexico and qualified for the Tour Championship in September, was voted Rookie of the Year ahead of Charlie Beljan, Jonas Blixt, Bud Cauley and Ted Potter.
